Birth is an extremely important life transforming event, and your birth experience sets the tone

for you and your baby’s relationship for the rest of your lives. That is why having a positive

and empowering birth experience is imperative! Hiring a doula is the first step in empowering

yourself

to have that treasured birth experience!

               My job as a doula is to “mother the mother.” I will meet with you several times before your birth
               to get to know you, and share with you everything that I know about pregnancy and birth.
               While you are waiting for the baby to arrive, I am available to you for consultation and advice
               24-7. In early labor I can come and support you in your home for as long as you would like, or
               I can meet you at your birth location after labor is well established. I will not leave your side and
               will support you throughout your whole birth experience. I stay with you until you are well
               settled postpartum, and return for up to two visits following your birth. It is my goal to support
               your wants and needs and to give you the tools to feel safe, empowered, and to advocate for
               the birth of your choice!

               I have been a mother to three wonderful children for 20 years now, and I have been married to
               my wonderful husband Pat for 22 years! I had the advantage of having a doula for two of my
               three children. Because of her presence, I felt supported, and empowered in my birth
               experiences. I credit her with the motivation to pursue this rewarding career.

               Family is very important to me, and I enjoy helping build other families by following my calling to
               support women and nurture other families in childbirth. Building on the importance of family, my
               birth philosophy is based on the concept of “mothering the mother.” I bring to you all of my
               extensive birthing experience and knowledge (I have attended over 80 births). My caring heart,
               and my skilled hands, both in hospital, and out of hospital have allowed me to successfully attend
               natural births, medicated births, VBAC births, water births, teen mothers, cesarean section
               births, and same sex couples. It is my goal that by the time you deliver your baby you will see
               your birth as a wonderful, empowering adventure!

               Women are strong and birth is a life-transforming event. Birth helps women to draw on their
               inner strength and helps them to find themselves. Every woman has the ability to accomplish the
               birth of her choice and to have a “treasured birth.”

               I am a student at Midwives College of Utah. I am an active member of the Childbirth Collective, as
               well as a Certified DONA Birth Doula. I am trained in the Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth as
               an educator.

I believe that working with expectant parents is a special calling that requires intuitiveness,

understanding and empathy, and education. Each and every birth is a wonderful and unique
